Wood Street Mission

Wood Street Mission helps children and families affected by poverty in Manchester and Salford. We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give struggling families clothes, bedding & baby equipment, toys, books and school uniform, ensuring that children feel confident at school regardless of their family’s financial background.

We promote engagement in education by helping families with the costs of going to school and run Book Roadshows in local schools to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty, and every year help thousands of children across our projects.
