The Silver Line

The Silver Line is a confidential, free helpline and befriending service for older people. Our helpline is open every day and night of the year. We offer information, friendship and advice to older people, many of whom are desperately lonely; link them to groups and services within their communities; and protect and support those who are suffering abuse and neglect.

We also have a network of ‘Silver Friends’. These are trained volunteers who contact older people by phone, on a weekly basis, to offer friendship and give them the confidence to engage with local groups and services.
