Kibera In Need (KIN)

KIN (Kibera in Need) supports families in the Kibera Slum, Nairobi, Kenya where as many as 1m people live in poverty with low or non-existent incomes. Residents suffer from poor health, inadequate shelter and a lack of sanitation. Open sewers flow outside the shacks and there are high numbers of street children and AIDS orphans.

KIN partners with a Nairobi based NGO and funds projects which support children through education and vocational training. There is a weekly feeding programme and regular seminars are held for caregivers and young adults on topics such as reproductive health. The families are also helped with vaccinations and medical checkups. KIN also runs a Small Business Support Scheme.
