Down's Syndrome Research Foundation

Our objective is to get medical research underway to find treatments and cures for all of the medical and developmental problems that are collectively described as Down’s Syndrome. Most of the life threatening problems can be treated with modern medicines and with surgery. But there is no cure for the mental handicap and this disease leads to dementia and Alzheimer’s. It shortens the lives of young adults who have never had a chance at life. Its much more than a “learning disability” and it desperately needs the research that we already have planned for the immediate future.

Curing this mental handicap is a huge challenge -- but our research is finding answers. There is a disturbance in the brain chemistry that can be corrected. Young Lives can be transformed and their future health assured.
