Different Strokes

25% of strokes occur in people aged under 65. For them stroke is especially devastating: one day fit and well, the next disabled; often with a young family to care for and support; and relying on employment for income rather than a pension. Different Strokes was founded by younger stroke survivors and is still largely managed and staffed by younger stroke survivors (including all the trustees). With this unique understanding of need Different Strokes continues to provide relevant information, advice, support and specialised exercise classes, and plans to introduce new services to aid the best possible physical and psychological recovery.
