Chess Homeless

CHESS seeks to relieve homelessness, related hardship and distress amongst single adults in Chelmsford and Essex, through the provision of support services and temporary accommodation that helps individuals move on in their lives to become independent members of society and where possible back into education and employment.

We operate a direct access 7 bedroom night shelter in Chelmsford providing a safe environment and services, including a bedroom, hygiene/laundry facilities, home cooked meals and drinks. CHESS also provides 5 other properties which are shared accommodation sites, these serve as a further step towards independence.
