Canine Partners

Canine Partners are an assistance dog charity who train dogs to bring greater independence and quality of life to people with physical disabilities across the UK. Assistance dogs offer practical help with everyday tasks and provide psychological and social benefits, including increased confidence, social interaction, and self-esteem.

The dogs are carefully matched to the applicants’ needs and lifestyle, no matter how challenging. They are trained to help with everyday tasks such as opening and closing doors, unloading the washing machine, picking up dropped items, pressing buttons and switches and fetching help in an emergency. They can even help people to get undressed and remove a card from an ATM!

Canine Partners receives no government funding so relies on donations to fund the creation of its life-transforming partnerships.
